• Killarney is well located for a very popular trip called the Ring of Kerry which is a road trip of just over 100 miles. Numerous bus companies offer trips during the summer and while it can be done in a day if you fancy touring, it?s a great time to rent a car in Killarney and go travelling.
• Tip: Most tour coaches run anti clockwise round the tour, heading to Killorglin first, so if you?re in a car it?s worth going the opposite direction i.e. heading towards Kenmare first.
• The Ring of Kerry takes in places like Killorgin, Glenbeigh, Caragh Lake, Cahersiveen, Reenard Point, Portmagee, Ballinskelligs, Valentia ,Ring of Skellig,Waterville, Derrynane Bay, Castle Cove, Kenmare and then back to Killarney. Of course there

Killarney National Park was the first national park setup in Ireland and was designated a word biosphere reserve in 1981. It is located to the south and west of Killarney. It comprises of approximately 120km of land, containing large herds of deer, Oakland and other interesting flora and fauna. It is open for tourism all year round and has a designated visitor centre in Muckross.
